South African Tourism, NANTA sign agreement

South Africa: THE South African Tourism (SAT) officials were in Nigeria recently in continuation of its marketing drive in the country. During the visit, the agency of the South African government led by its Chief Marketing Officer, Roshene Singh, signed an agreement with the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agency (NANTA).
The agreement will involve assisting the travel trade association in capacity building and training in tour packaging and help them do well in their businesses.
In return, the South African Tourism will use the platform of NANTA to reach travel agents all over the country to sell South Africa travel packages to Nigerians willing to visit South Africa.
The marketing team of South African Tourism disclosed that what they are doing in Nigeria is because they have identified Africa as a major market for inbound tourism to their country.
They explained that Nigeria is a major market in the continent for tourists’ generation to South Africa. “We are looking at having more than 50,000 tourists from Nigeria and are working with the embassy here to ease visa procedure as well as the South African Airways to help deliver.”
While describing the agreement as historic, Mrs. Roshene Singh , said there was training in place called FUNDI which NANTA members have benefitted from, adding that there is a plan to open an office in Nigeria next year.
